This is the lesson that took me 20
years before it hit me. Quite long is it not? But yes, it is true. I have
watched a bunch of movies about being true to yourself, being proud of what you
have and finding who you are and right after I’ve finish watching the movie, I
would say to myself “I’ll remember the lesson I learned and I will put into
practice it in my life.” But those words are just as good as words; it would
only last in my mind as long as the movie has, and I wouldn’t remember it
again.
For
my Readers
I’m going to share with you my
story, so you could find it in yourself that you could also do it. It took me a
while to come to a realization, that being who I am is really something special
that God has given me. Learn from my experience and in hope that you would
apply it in to your life. If ever I was mistaken or mislead you, please leave a
comment and correct me from my fault. I am willing to accept and appreciate
what you will state in your comment and of course I will immediately reply.
My
Story
Can you believe it? The thing that
made me come to my senses was doing the thing that I least expected to do. It was by reading a book. It’s not that I
hate reading books, I just don’t do that. I found it very boring and a waste of
my time.
But I was wrong, reading books is
actually fun, plus you’ll get your brain exercised, by visualizing what you’re
reading and analyzing the plot of the story. There is also a lot to learn, just
like what I learned “How can I be myself and the reason why should I be myself.”
Now I like reading books, I just love the fact that I am learning a lot from
reading.
I was in Manila having my O.J.T. (On
the Job Training) when I found an interesting book in the book shelf of the
dormitory we were staying. I got instantly interested in it, why? Because the
book’s title was “How to Enjoy Your Life and Your Job”, it was a compilation of
Dale Carnegie’s bestselling books. It
was not in my intensions to read the whole book; I just wanted to look through
the pages, in hope to see an interesting pictures or comic. Sadly I didn’t find
one, but the good thing is, something in my mind said I should read just one
Article/ Chapter, and it was the turning point of how I look myself up to now.
Time passes by without me noticing that I had gotten through reading 150 pages.
Without realizing it, I was starting to
enjoy reading those inspirational stories in the book. My roommates where
outside doing their stuff and maybe by having the room for me at that moment
helped me to focus on what I was reading. Learn
through reading, this was the first thing that I have thought when I was
about to finish the book. Maybe it was because that was what I was doing at
that moment.
What
You Need
As I have said, it took me 20 years
to realize and be myself. But it is never too late for anyone to be themselves “Better
Late than Never.” Changing from being someone else to being yourself and
realizing how unique you are doesn’t really take that long.
You
just got to have the willingness to do it. Let me give an example, when my mother
told me to clean my room, but I don’t want to, I will not do it, simply because
I am not willing. You see, you have to find it in yourself that you
are willing to change, a change for the better, being yourself.
The only thing that can stop you from being who you really are, is yourself. You're the only one that has the control over your mind and body. No one can ever make you do anything if you don't. If you have learned to do things willingly, you'll find it very easy to change. To feel like you're starting to take over your life and be the person you should be.
If you have made your mind and willingly accept who you are, the effect is instant. From the moment that you have come to your realization, that is the time that you become yourself.

Don’t
Waste Your Life
We
only have one life, so don’t waste it living as someone else. If you choose
to live as somebody else, no one will ever remember you. Because you were just
a copy of the original, and the original is the one who will be glorified. What
makes me so sure about my statement; it is because you did not offer them something
unique and special.
I remembered what the NBA Star Allen
Iverson once said in an interview “I don’t want to be the next Michael Jordan
or the next Magic Johnson I want to be remembered as me, as Allen Iverson.” You
see, people who succeed are those people who are themselves. Iverson’s
statement was a perfect example for this article. We the people doesn’t want
another Michael Jordan, we want him as Allen Iverson.
Please, Don't waste your F***** Life.
Please, Don't waste your F***** Life.
Scientific
Fact: After your mother and father have met and mated, there is only one
chance in 300,000 billion that the person who is specifically you would be
born. How’s that for a fact, even if you do have 300,000 billion brothers and
sister they would all be different from one another including you.
Before ending this blog, keep this
in mind “Don’t live your life being
somebody else, you’re something new in this world, so be proud and be yourself.”
Did
I miss anything?
Is there anything that I miss out or
is there anything that you want to add up? Please feel free to leave a comment
and let me know.
